| Global Capabilities for Optimum Customer Value |
Armstrong is a global company. Not only do we serve customers around the world, we also use the best technology and supply sources globally to ensure that only the best is delivered to our customers.
Armstrong recently brought a new product to the market in which the motor technology was sourced from Europe, plastics from Taiwan and the castings from the United States. The final product was assembled, tested, painted and packaged in our Buffalo, U.S.A. facility. Because of our global approach to technology and the global nature of our supply chain, this product is compact and unique in its design, as well as price competitive, leading all competitors worldwide.
Global supply and capability also enables Armstrong to ensure our supply chain is robust and protected in the case of a breakage in the chain. Armstrong endeavors to have a back-up source for every component. Recently, a major Armstrong vendor experienced a local earthquake which caused several weeks loss of production. Due to the flexibility of our supply chain, we were able to utilize our backup tooling and suppliers and, as a result, Armstrong customers experienced no disruption.
Armstrong enjoys supply and technology partnerships with companies on five continents and we purchase components from over 50 countries globally. We are ISO 9000 qualified in all of our manufacturing facilities. Our Quality Assurance personnel work closely with Armstrong's global partners to ensure that components are engineered and supplied to our exacting standards, no matter where they are manufactured.
Armstrong continues to build and expand its global technology and supply network. Through this activity we will continue to lead in providing value to all our customers, worldwide.

|

Our Global Industry Presence |
For Armstrong and our employees, active participation in the industry associations and conferences is a crucial part of both staying current with industry trends, and championing the end customer in the development and protection of industry codes for design and construction. Armstrong currently plays an active role in over 30 of the leading industry associations, and will continue to support the development of industry code and product technology which serves the interests of the people who purchase, install, maintain and are served by the products and solutions the industry provides. |
Representative Network |
| Armstrong has established a strong and vibrant network of representatives around the world. Comprised of over 400 companies located in 55 countries, our representative network allows us to provide a unique mix of high value products, services and solutions to customers in nearly every corner of the globe.
Our representatives are carefully vetted before joining the Armstrong organization, and are required to stay current on Armstrong products and solutions through an ongoing process of training that takes place both in person and over the Internet. Our representatives also create extended value for customers by building packages and combinations of products and solutions by bringing together the best of all the various manufacturers they serve.
Our customers can only benefit from this rich and ever growing network of knowledge, capabilities, energy and industry experience. |
Knowledge Management on a Global Scale
|
For Armstrong, our employees, representatives, customers, and future industry professionals, the development and dissemination of new expertise and capabilities is a key component in our mission to provide high value products and solutions.
In 2003, we took a major step forward in pursuit of our knowledge management goals when we launched The Knowledge Exchange, an online repository for up to date product and industry knowledge. A combination Internet tool and industry encyclopedia, the Armstrong Knowledge Exchange collects the best and most current of our knowledge and expertise and makes it available on our corporate web site to anyone in the world. |

Armstrong's Commitment to Global Standards
|
Armstrong has, at the heart of its business, the desire to meet its customers requirements. While we design products to have a global appeal, we also recognize that the needs of local market standards and practices around the world must be met in order to gain acceptance in those markets.
The most obvious variance is the frequency of electrical supply. Armstrong has designed its range to take into account both 50 Hz and 60 Hz electrical supplies, with our UK operations forming a centre of excellence for 50 Hz, and North American operations forming a centre of excellence for 60 Hz. This ensures optimum performance wherever our products are used, but our efforts go much further than this.
In Europe, motor flanges are based on IEC standards, whilst in North America they are based on NEMA. The use of local standards for mating components such as motors and pump housings allows easy replacement of parts in the local market. Flanges are drilled to suit either ANSI or PN requirements and booster sets are modified to meet local requirements for potable water.
Armstrong is committed to continually developing products and solutions for customers around the globe, while working to understand the local market requirements for each product.
