HOW IT WORKS

The Astro Express System works like a thermostat.The snap-acting valve opens and closes to circulate hot water so it stays at a specific temperature throughout the distribution system. Hot water at each tap stays hot, and cold water stays cold.

A timer automatically ensures that the water is recirculated regularly; and can be set for multiple activation periods per day. It can be set to circulate water only during normal usage hours (i.e. not in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep). The timer includes manual on/off overrides to normal automatic operation.

Each system comes with one valve, which is installed at the faucet furthest away from the water heater. This ensures that hot water is delivered to all the faucets in between. A home that has a distribution line with a number of branches, will need a valve for the faucet at the end of each branch. Additional valves are available separately.
