What Makes Armstrong the Leader in Vertical In-Line Pumps?

Armstrong's vertical in-line pump represents a design innovation that has repeatedly proven its value over the past 30 years. Armstrong took a leadership role in improving the efficiency and utility of commercial pumps by designing and marketing the vertical in-line pump in the early 1970s.

Since that time, other market participants have copied the original design. However, Armstrong remains the industry leader in both ongoing innovation and promotion of the vertical concept. Armstrong takes a leading role in educating engineers around the world on the value of vertical installations, and offers one of the widest range of vertical pump sizes in the industry. The Armstrong 4300 split coupled vertical in-line (VIL) includes both a silicon carbide seal and an outside balanced seal as standard items. Armstrong VIL pumps combine excellent operating efficiency, with very low vibration and noise.

As well, Armstrong offers a very valuable design/assist program whereby an internal designer will work with contractors and engineers to ‘lay out' and mechanical room using vertical technology. In past instances, substituting vertical pumps for horizontal, in addition to reorganizing and repositioning mechanical room components has led to tremendous cost savings in piping and system loss due to friction.

Armstrong will continue to take a leading role in development of new product innovations and new pump sizes and applications to meet and exceed customer requirements.

The unique features of the Armstrong Vertical In-Line are as follows:
