Variable speed technology allows the pump to be tuned to suit system demand. Not peak demand, but current demand, which varies throughout the day. It means that the system is not continually running at full speed and wasting energy. The resulting energy savings alone can pay for the initial cost of the pump in as little as 2 years. |
Sure, but at the expense of greater capital and installation costs. Sensors have to be installed at locations remote from the pump, incurring mounting and wiring costs. And of course, sensors can be susceptible to failure and damage, or require occasional recalibration. The IVS system doesn’t use remote sensors. It monitors the system requirements from the speed of the pump and the amount off power the unit is drawing. The unit is programmed to adhere to a pre-defined control curve that automatically adjusts speed and pressure to match the system load at all times. The control curve is fully site-adjustable and gives the installer the flexibility to replicate sensor positions at varying distances from the pump. This removes the problems associated with incorrect sensor placement and still provides optimum energy saving |
